His professional background includes over 14 years of experience in commercial banking where he has functioned as a Relationship Manager to entities ranging from start-up ventures to Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Walnut, he was Vice President and Team Leader for Star Bank, N.A. (now U.S. Bancorp). His background also includes commercial banking experience at Bank One and financial analysis at Unisys Corporation.
He graduated from the University of Cincinnati, Summa Cum Laude with a BBA in Finance and Insurance and obtained an MBA in Finance from the Indiana University School of Business. He also obtained a graduate banking degree from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking in conjunction with the University of Delaware.
Mr. Bernloehr has held leadership roles in several Cincinnati community organizations. He was an Assistant Vice Chairman of the 1994 United Way Campaign and Co-chairman of the Business Division for the 1996 Fine Arts fund drive. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati Opera, The Greater Cincinnati Venture Association, Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation. He also is an advisory Board Member for the Hemophilia Treatment Center of Children’s Hospital Cincinnati, and with Consolidated Metal Products Inc. Mr. Bernloehr and his wife, Debbie, have three children and live in Cincinnati.
